Perek 13 Tehillim for Shidduchim
Each Hebrew month, starting on the 13th, we say Perek 13 thirteen times a day for thirteen days, any time between sunrise and sunset. Once during the cycle we all say our designated part of the list of names. Each month it alternates: one month you say the list of young men, the next month the list of young ladies.
We are managing the Perek 13 group through this site going forward. Add your name, check it is written the way it should be said, and confirm you are in at the start of each cycle. Everything else stays exactly as it is. The day to day check marks still go on the WhatsApp chat.
This cycle
Our Cheshvan cycle starts Saturday, October 24.
In the interim, our WhatsApp chat reverts to a rolling Tehillim chat, which is completely optional.
Dates follow your device's calendar. Hebrew dates begin at nightfall.
How it works
Add your child's name exactly how you want it to appear on the list. You see it as you type.
The complete list of names is said each cycle. At the beginning of the cycle you are told which part of the list to say. You say it once during the cycle.
On the 13th day of the Hebrew month, start saying Perek 13 thirteen times a day for thirteen days, any time between sunrise and sunset. Post your check mark on the WhatsApp chat.
Before each cycle, confirm here that you are continuing and that your names are still correct.
Which list do I say?
It alternates every cycle, and it depends on who you have on the list.
If you have a young lady on the list
this cycle you say the list of young men.
If you have a young man on the list
this cycle you say the list of young ladies.
If you have both a young lady and a young man on the list
you say the list of young men, the same as if you had only a young lady.
Next cycle, each of these swaps.
